Man In Custody After Firing Shots At Police

SirenCHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers were investigating a shooting that happened in southeast Charlotte Friday morning.

Investigators said they were conducting a knock and talk in the 1800 block of Village Lake Drive around 9:30 a.m. While officers were inside the house, a man ran upstairs and began shooting at them.

Police said the shooter then jumped from a second floor window and ran from the apartment.

Police found the man a short time later and took him into custody.

Nobody was hurt.

Police have taken several people to police headquarters to be interviewed by detectives.

Officers have not released any names.
