Man Pleads Guilty to Killing, Cutting Llama in Half

AlexClarkA man has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty after being accused in the killing and mutilation of a llama at a Monroe farm in January.

21-year-old Alexander Samuel Clark pleaded guilty to the charge and felony larceny on Tuesday. Court records show he was sentenced to prison for 6-17 months and had to pay court costs and fines of almost $2,500.

James Robert Lee and Cody Bray were also charged during that time. Lee will be in court Thursday and Bray’s court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday.

According to police, the three men trespassed on Borderline Farms, a South Rocky River Road llama and alpaca farm in Monroe.

The 300-pound llama on the farm that was killed by stabbing and then cut in half was named Mighty.

The men had been drinking and had just wanted to know what it was like to kill an animal, according to Union County Sheriff’s Capt. J.C. Luke.
