KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — A Kannapolis man will spend the next 25 years in prison for killing his roommate.
Jasper Whitman pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
Prosecutors say he stabbed Davis Gilyard to death in 2012 and then stuffed the man’s body in a car trunk.
A judge sentenced Whitman on Friday to a minimum 25 years in prison.
