VALDESE, N.C. – A Burke County man has been convicted of raping a child and will spend at least the next 12 years in prison.
Twenty-five year old Paul Lunsford was sentenced to no less than 144 months and no more than 182 months in prison. He will also be added to the North Carolina Sex Offender Registry for 30 years.
Investigators say he raped a child in both Burke County and the city of Valdese in 2008. He was convicted on first degree rape of a child, breaking or entering a motor vehicle, larceny and larceny of a motor vehicle.
