Man Shot In Uptown Charlotte Dies From His Injuries

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A man died at the hospital after being shot in uptown Charlotte on Wednesday, according to police.

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. at Charlotte Dillehay Courts on the 2600 block of North Pine Street, which runs parallel to N. Graham Street between Settlers Lane and W. Trade Street.

Officials confirmed that a man, later identified as 25-year-old Matthew Ryan Wood, was taken to Carolinas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

Police said that the gunman has not been apprehended, but did not say if they are looking for a specific suspect.

Homicide detectives canvassed the apartment complex to determine if there were any witnesses.
