Man Stabbed in Multi-Person Fight Outside McDonald’s

CIC Default Crime Scene TapeTwo men were hurt in a fight outside of a McDonald’s restaurant parking lot in Dallas on Thursday.

The incident happened at 3117 Dallas High Shoals Highway around 1:30 p.m.

Daniel Neal, 33, of King Mountain, was jumped by four people, police said. A witness told officers Neal was beat on his head and body with a shovel. Neal then allegedly took the shovel and started beating a truck.

Dallas Police Chief R.A. Scott said one of the men in the truck got out holding a small baseball bat. Luke Pittman, 32, of Kannapolis, began hitting Neal with the bat, then Neal took out a knife and started stabbing Pittman in his abdomen. Neal then left in a car.

Pittman was taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center.

Scott said Neal was tracked to a house nearby then took him to the hospital for treatment of severe cuts on his head from the shovel.

The cause of the fight is still under investigation, and police said none of those involved worked at the restaurant.

One woman and two other men have already been charged in the incident. Summer Renee Weaver, 26, of Dallas, is charged with simple assault and held on $2,500 bond.

Jay Adams Austin, 26, of Kannapolis, has been charged with failure to appear and simple assault. He was held on a $10,000 bond.

Dale Wayne Pittman, 19, of Kannapolis, is charged with assault and held on a $2,500 bond.
