In east Charlotte businesses are on high alert and police are searching for a man that has been a crime spree. The first robbery happened at the McDonald’s on Wendover Road.
According to the owner, he entered the store last Friday night and ordered a coffee. After getting the coffee he then demanded money from the cashier. The cashier thought he was joking at first because he did not seem forceful or demanding. When the suspect told her he wasn’t joking, she refused to give him the money and told him to leave. The suspect left empty handed.
The next robbery happened at the Food Lion across the street from the McDonald’s two days later. The suspect propped a ladder against the building and was able to pry open a vent and enter the store after hours. All the man stole from the grocery store was DVD’s and cigarettes.
Police say that after looking at surveillance videos of the McDonald’s and the Food Lion they are sure this is the same man.
