Man Wanted in Rowan Co. Since 2007 Arrested in Louisiana

Maurice Boyd WoodwardA man sought by sheriff’s investigators for Rowan County since 2007 was arrested in Louisiana over the weekend.

Police in Tickfaw, Louisiana, a village northwest of Lake Pontchartrain with a population of about 600, arrested Maurice Boyd Woodward on Saturday.

The arrest happened after Sgt. Carl Dangerfield with the Rowan County sheriff’s office determined Woodward’s address was in Tickfaw while researching people on the most wanted list. Dangerfield contacted police in Tickfaw, who arrested Woodward without incident.

Woodward’s extradition is being coordinated by the Rowan County District Attorney’s Office.
