A Greenville, SC mother is being charged with neglect in the death of her 2 year old son because the mother locked him in a bedroom and didn’t check on him even after hearing a loud noise from the room.
According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, on March 12 the mother had put her 2 year old son and 4 year old daughter in the room and locked the door. About 11:30pm there was a crash- a chest of drawers had fallen on top of the 2 year old, Chandler Shaver.
Twenty seven year old Margie Shaver turned herself in Thursday to face a homicide by child neglect charge. She is awaiting a bond hearing.
The 4 year old girl was not hurt during the incident and was taken into emergency custody.
