HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A driver who crashed with five children in the car late Sunday will face charges.
Troopers said the Ford Explorer crashed and flipped several times into the median on Interstate 77 at Sam Furr Road, ejecting one child.
The crash sent Yvette Eldridge and five children to local hospitals. All are expected to recover.
Troopers said Eldridge turned around to make one of the kids get back into the car seat then lost control when she turned back and over corrected.
Eldridge will be charged with driving with a suspended license. Troopers said she will likely be charged for not having the children in the proper car seats also.
