Monroe police are seeking help from the public in identifying whoever shot a man several times on Saturday.
Steven Smith, 28, was shot after midnight outside a house located in the 300 block of East Green Street, according to police.
Police had been responding to a report of a gunshot victim in the area of Maurice Street-Green Street when they were called about a man with multiple wounds from a gunshot at Carolinas Medical Center-Union.
Police said Smith’s condition had been critical and he was airlifted to Charlotte’s CMC-Main. He died there.
