Mooresville Middle School Student Arrested For Threats Against President

prezMOORESVILLE, N.C. — A Mooresville Middle School student was arrested after the Secret Service investigated reports that he made threats against President Barack Obama before the president’s visit on June 6.

Mooresville police confirmed that the 14-year-old was detained and taken into custody after the boy said he would shoot Obama if he saw the president during his visit.

Obama made a speech about increasing high-speed Internet in schools last week at Mooresville Middle School.

The student’s name was not released because of his age.

Police said the teen was held in a juvenile detention center during the president’s visit.

The Secret Service is still investigating the incident.
