Police have shut down both lanes of North Tryon Street near Matheson Avenue and it is causing major backups in both directions.
Police got the call that multiple pedestrians had been struck around 7:30am Tuesday. The incident happened on North Tryon Street between 28th Street and Matheson Avenue.
According to medic, multiple people were hit by the same car. Two patients were transported with life threatening injuries and one with potentially life threatening injuries.
Police are continuing their investigation and drivers should expect delays in that area for a few more hours.
