Mystery Solved: ATV Not Actually Stolen From Eastridge Mall

CIC Default Police Line TapePolice said an ATV that was believed to have been stolen from the Eastridge Mall was stolen after all but just reclaimed by the owner.

The four-wheeler had gone missing last week, prompting a call to police.

According to witnesses, men who said they were employees took the $8,000 vehicle away saying it was due to lack of sales or interest.

Mall officials called the Elite Water Systems owners when they noticed the ATV gone. The company was displaying the vehicle as a promo for getting leads, but Iron Horse Motorcycles actually owned the ATV, Steve Stout with Eastridge Mall said.

Elite Water Systems employees didn’t know about the ATV being taken away, which is why police were called.

But it turns out Iron Horse employees took the ATV and there was a lack of communication between the two businesses, Stout said.
