CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police in Charlotte have arrested a man they say was using his South End apartment to run a drug lab.

Weston Stanley Darfler, 24, is charged with several narcotics violations including trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to arrest records from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Darfler has been arrested several times this year including once  for possessing cocaine.

Investigators were called to The Ashton apartments in South End on Oct. 17 to investigate a noise complaint for loud music coming from an apartment.

When officers arrived around 1:47 a.m. they smelled marijuana coming from inside.

Darfler was walking out of the apartment with a dog but when he saw police, he quickly went back into the apartment and shut the door.

Officers told Darfler to open the door to the apartment so the dog could get back in. They saw a marijuana cigarette behind one of Darfler’s ears when he complied.

A search warrant was obtained when Darfler refused to let officers in or respond to their commands.

Once inside, officers found cocaine, marijuana, MDMA, Alprazolam and Oxymorphone, according to the report.

Numerous items were seized used to manufacture, compound, convert, produce, process, prepare, test, analyze, package, store, contain, conceal and introduce illegal narcotics into the body.

Six firearms and a knife were also taken as evidence.

Darfler was released on bond.
