Northwest Charlotte DWI Checking Station Totals Up 74 Charges

Check Point ChickieCHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have charged seven people with DWIs at an overnight checkpoint in northwest Charlotte.

Charlotte Mecklenburg police officers, along with the Mecklenburg County ABC law enforcement, Pineville and Matthews Police departments, set up on Brookshire Boulevard for 4 hours.  The BAT Mobile (Mobile Breathalyzer Bus) was on hand.

They issued a total of 74 charges.

Most of the charges were for license violations.

Six were drug charges, and one person was accused of having a stolen gun.
