SHELBY, N.C. – The father of a toddler who shot his younger sister has been criminally charged.
The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office says the 3-year-old boy shot the 17-month-old with a .9mm handgun belonging to Justin Carper in early February.
Carper, a local parenting blogger, is charged with failing to secure his firearm.
The baby survived. The night of the shooting, Carper tweeted, “Seeing my little girl run across the floor laughing is pretty special tonight!”
