Park & Rec Employee Investigated for Selling Drugs

The Mecklenburg County Parks & Recreation Department met with police a few weeks ago to request they investigate Donald Lee Jones, a maintenance employee suspected of selling drugs on the job.

Police investigated Donald Jones’ drug selling activities and today investigators received reliable information about a drug deal going down (involving Jones) on Dr Carver Rd. Undercover officers approached Jones to arrest him and he ran into the woods.
Jones was located and arrested within minutes but by the time police got to him, he had rid himself of any drugs he may have been carrying. Police were still able to arrest him for resisting an officer since he ran. Only the guilty run so I think it is safe to assume he ditched the drugs in the woods.
