Police Arrest 39 Motorists In Charlotte Area for DWI During Crackdown

handcuffs39 Charlotte-area motorists were arrested for driving while impaired during a crackdown over Memorial Day Weekend conducted by the State Highway Patrol, according to figures they released on Thursday.

The arrests happened in the Highway Patrol Troop H district that encompasses nine counties, including Union, Mecklenburg, Cleveland, and Gaston.

142 motorists were cited for seat belt violations, 138 for driver’s license violations, 15 for child restraint violations, and 161 for registration violations.

The total number of citations issued by troopers was 1,333 between May 23-25 during the “On the Road, On the Water, Don’t Drink and Drive” campaign.
