Police Charge 2 in Connection with Home Burglarly

AR-160529306Two Gastonia people were arrested in connection with a home burglary that happened last week.

Police charged 26-year-old Princeton Nolan Slate Brooks and 25-year-old Candice Roxanne Shuler, both of Second Avenue, with felony larceny after breaking and entering and felony first degree burglary on Wednesday.

The two broke into a home on May 19 between 10 and 11 p.m. and stole $120 cash, police said. Two residents of the home had been inside at the time.

Both are held on a $10,000 secured bond in Gaston County Jail.

Shuler was arrested in 2014 and still has pending charges for trespassing and shoplifting, plus another pending second-degree trespassing charge from February 2015. She was also charged with violating her probation and was jailed for 16 days in April.

Brooks was arrested and jailed for one day in 2014 on a DWI charge. He also has pending drug possession charges from January.
