Police Chase In North Charlotte

Thursday morning officers were involved in a police chase through north Charlotte- driving up sidewalks, over curbs, and through a local news station’s front lawn.

Around 9:30am, an officer had pulled the car over for a traffic stop, but when the officer went to approach the vehicle the man took off, burning through an intersection. The SUV the suspect was driving was stolen and he led officers in circles around a north Charlotte community near LaSalle Street. The suspect ended up sideswiping a car on North Tryon Street. When he tried to run, police were able to arrest the man- Marcus Jamarr James, 20.

One person was taken to the hospital when his car was hit by a police car. He was conscious and alert.
