Jacob Alan Houser has been accused of kidnapping his 22-year-old ex-girlfriend twice in the last three months.

On Wednesday around 10:30 a.m., police received a 911 call in which the caller said Houser had forced his way into a home in Stanley before assaulting a man and kidnapping a woman there.

Police found the woman safe, but Houser was nowhere to be found. After searching for hours, around 6 p.m. investigators finally found House on Hines Circle Road hiding in the attic of a relative, a press release shows.

Houser was found assaulting the same woman in July after a passing motorist reported it at the Cowan’s Ford Overlook. Houser hid in the woods when officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg and Huntersville police departments arrived.

The victim said Houser had barged into her home then grabbed her throat and pulled her into his pickup truck. He was dragging her to the water and she was screaming, which got the attention of the motorist who reported it.

Since the incident in July, Houser had been on the loose.

Houser is facing charges that include breaking and entering with the intent to terrorize or injure the occupant, first-degree kidnapping, second-degree kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, assault on a female, resisting a public officer, felonious restraint, assault by strangulation inflicting physical injury, first-degree burglary of an occupied dwelling, driving while license revoked, and interfering with emergency communications. He is also wanted for charges in Iredell County and Mecklenburg County.
