Police Investigating A Homicide In Southwest Charlotte

police line tapeCHARLOTTE, N.C. – A man was shot and killed in southwest Charlotte early Friday morning.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said a man was killed during a shooting at South Oaks apartments on Bow Road and Kings Ridge Drive around 4 a.m.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Medic.  The victim’s identity will be released pending family notification, police said.

Police do not have a suspect in custody but are looking into a fight that could have led to the shooting.

Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood to determine whether there are any witnesses to this incident. The investigation is in its early stages, police said.
