CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A man has been shot near uptown Charlotte.
Paramedics say it happened in the 1500 block of Burton near Whisnant Street.
CMPD confirms the victim died.
There is no word yet on any suspects.
Officials placed Walter G. Byers Elementary on lockdown around 2:45 p.m. The year-round school is in intercession. Only some students were on campus at the time. The school lifted the lockdown around 3:15.
