Police Issue Arrest Warrant For Suspect In East Charlotte Murder

east side bar guyCHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department is looking for a man they say is responsible for a shooting on the city’s east side that left one person dead and another one injured on Sunday morning.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Douglas Ubaldo Valle Zuniga aka “Colocho”.

According to the CMPD, officers were called to the 3800 block of Driftwood Drive to the El Gavilan Club around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning to the report of a shooting involving two victims.

Officers say one victim suffering from gunshot wounds was pronounced dead on scene by Medic.

He was later identified as 26-year-old Jose Jesus Hernandez-Diaz.

A second victim was transported to Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries according to police.

Officers have not released that person’s name and say they are searching for any witnesses.
