Police: Mother and Son Shooting Believed to be Murder-Suicide

gunPolice said they think the two people found Wednesday dead in their northwest Charlotte home was an act of murder-suicide.

43-year-old Christopher Davis shot his mother Francis Davis, 68, then shot himself Wednesday evening in the Farmwood Court home, according to police. Authorities also don’t believe there was anyone else in the house during the shootings.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg officers were called to the home at 6:17 p.m. for paramedic assistance when they found the two bodies in the house.

As the investigation is ongoing, Homicide Unit detectives canvas the neighborhood to search for any witnesses to the shootings.

Anyone with information on the case is asked by police to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or 704-432-TIPS (8477) to speak with a homicide detective. Those with tips leading to an arrest are eligible for rewards.
