Police Searching for Suspects in Mount Holly Break-In

police tapePolice are currently looking for three suspects of a Mount Holly Gun & Pawn break-in Thursday.

Officers responded abruptly after receiving the call about an alarm going off at the business on East Henry Street right before 3 a.m. Thursday, according to Police Chief Don Roper.

When police arrived, they saw two males in the store and one male across the street in a four-door dark green Honda Accord, Roper said. One of the suspects in the store ran. The other man got into the car, which had been stolen.

The car began driving on Highway 273 north onto Highway 27. Police followed the car into Charlotte but stopped due to safety concerns at Interstate 485, Roper said.

The car was found in Charlotte in the 6400 block of Tomahawk Lane, close to Moore’s Chapel Road Thursday morning, police said.

The search for the man who fled from the store was assisted by a Gastonia Police K9 unit.

There have been no arrests made, Roper said.

Investigators are working together with the federal ATF plus other agencies to find out if this crime was related to others that recently happened in the area, as well as trying to recover evidence from video at the business.
