Police Searching For Vehicle Involved In Fatal Hit And Run

SUVCHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are looking for an SUV in connection with a hit and run that killed a man with Cerebral Palsy.

Saturday night, Carrington Ware, 50, was struck and killed in the 2400 block of Alleghany Street.

Authorities are now attempting to locate a dark-colored SUV that was seen in the area of the incident.

Police say the SUV was last seen making a left turn from Pebblebrook Drive onto Alleghany Street, traveling towards Ashley Road.

On Monday, detectives asked for the public’s help, saying there’s minimal evidence left at the scene.

“This is first case I’ve actually worked where we had nothing. No paint transfer. No plastic parts. headlight lenses, or glass from the front windshield,” said Det. Steve Williams, of CMPD’s major crash unit.

Police ask anyone with information about the crime to give them a call at 704-334-1600.
