Police Seek Assistance To Identify South End Murder Victim

new crimeCHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who was shot and killed near South End late Friday night.

Officers responded to an assault call in the 6400 block of Old Pineville Road around 10:45 p.m. and found the man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Paramedics rushed him to Carolinas Medical Center where he died.

Detectives are still investigating the killing, but have not been able to identify the victim yet.

Police describe the man as Hispanic, approximately 16 to 20 years old. He has a thin build with a short haircut. He was wearing a black tank top, red basketball shorts and black and white sneakers.

Detectives said the victim was riding a black bicycle.
