Possible Drug Deal Gone Bad Leads to University City Shooting

FullSizeRender (54)What police are saying was a drug deal gone bad led to a man being shot in his leg in Charlotte on Wednesday.

The shooting occurred in the University City area in the 11000 block of Holm Oak Place, off of West Mallard Creek Church Road, around 12:30 p.m.

Police said one person had driven his pickup truck up to another person on the street for a drug deal. An argument began, during which one of the people was shot.

The victim had potentially life-threatening injuries and was taken to Carolinas Medical Center. His name has not been released.

It has also not been said by police whether they are close to arresting anyone.
