CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Duke Energy power outage is impacting about 1,000 customers in Ballantyne.
Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are directing traffic along the area of Johnston Road, where traffic signals are out. The outage is impacting Johnston Road south of I-485 to Providence Road West.
A Duke Energy spokesperson said there is no estimated time of restoration at this point.
Duke Energy crews responded to a report of a transformer that was on fire. They are investigating to see what caused the transformer to catch fire.
