CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Two men and a woman who was pregnant led police on a chase after a bank was robbed in east Charlotte Wednesday morning.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said two men robbed the First Citizens Bank in the 8000 block of Albemarle Road around 9 a.m.
Two men walked into the bank and demanded money. After taking the money, the two suspects stole someone’s car at the bank before ditching the car a few blocks away to jump into a waiting BMW driven by the woman, police said.
Officers were able to locate the suspects trying to get away in the BMW and gave chase.
During the chase the two male suspects threw two bags of money out of the window before the woman turned into a neighborhood on W.T. Harris, police said.
Police said they were able to trap the suspects in the neighborhood after the car got stuck on an embankment. All three of were taken into custody without any injuries.
