Rock Hill Police Investigate Daytime Robbery

Police in Rock Hill are investigating after a store was robbed during the daylight hours this week.

The incident occurred on Monday. According to local police, a suspect arrived at Bob’s Food Mart on East Main Street in Rock Hill with the object of committing the crime. The suspect entered the store carrying a handgun and threatened employees, yelling at them to give him the money.

The suspect then stole money from the cash drawer as well as an iPhone 6+ from one of the employees. The man fled the scene, running in the direction of downtown.

Police were called to the scene, and used the “Find my iPhone” app to try and locate the employee’s stolen phone and possibly the suspect. The app led officers to a location in the 400 block of South Wilson Street. The phone was still on, and was located in a wooded area, but the suspect was no longer with the phone.

The suspect in the case has not yet been arrested. Police have described him as wearing dark clothing including a blue or black sweatshirt and black pants, along with blue gloves and a dark colored stocking cap at the time of the crime.

Anyone who knows anything about the crime or the suspect is asked to contact a detective at the Rock Hill Police Department at 803-329-7200.
