Sacrilegious Graffiti Spray-painted on Fort Mill Church

CIC Default CrimeSomeone vandalized a Fort Mill church over the weekend by spray painting sacrilegious and marijuana symbols on it, a York County Sheriff’s Office report said.

The vandalism was discovered by the pastor of Christ Ridge Presbyterian Church, Michael Dixon, who immediately called police. According to Dixon, some of the spray-painted graffiti was anti-Semitic, including symbols like upside down crosses.

The church is located on Gold Hill Road. Most of the graffiti was able to be cleaned off by church members, Dixon said. He also said members suspect young people were responsible for the damage, as the words “leaf” and “Syria” had been misspelled.

Responding officers noticed the suspects had also spray-painted a coffee business’s trailer that shares the same property.
