UNION COUNTY, S.C. – Union County Sheriff’s Office investigators say their suspect in a fatal stabbing over the weekend is in custody at a Charlotte hospital.

In a written statement, The Union County Sheriff’s Office said that Landon Blaine Turner has been interviewed by investigators and has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of Ryan Allen, 29.

Turner was taken into custody about 1 p.m. Monday and remains in the hospital.  Once he is released, he will be taken to the Mecklenburg County Jail to begin the extradition process back to South Carolina, The sheriff said.

Deputies responded to a call about a disturbance at a home about 9:40 p.m. Saturday.  Paramedics were treating the victim, Ryan Allen, of Union, who was on the ground, when deputies arrived.

Mr. Allen was taken Wallace Thomson Hospital, where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room at 10:48 p.m., Union County Deputy Coroner John Fallaw said.  Allen sustained a fatal stab wound to his left shoulder, the coroner said.

Two other men were stabbed but their injuries were not life threatening.

Investigators haven’t determined a motive for the stabbings. According to the police report, Allen and the other two victims were headed to a party when a fight broke out in the street.

Union County’s Sheriff went with investigators Monday to speak with Mr. Turner, who has non-life threatening injuries from Saturday’s street fight.  The sheriff said hospital staff alerted authorities when Turner showed up at the hospital with injuries.

Investigators have identified other possible suspects, but has not released any information on them yet.
