School Guidance Counselor Used Excessive Force With Student

CIC Default CrimeA school guidance counselor in Rock Hill is on administrative leave after he allegedly used excessive force when dealing with a student, the police report shows.

The incident was reported to police by a male student’s parent around 3 p.m. on Thursday. The reports says the counselor jerked the male student across the room after grabbing his left arm on Wednesday.

The incident happened during a class lesson about “stranger danger,” according to the report.

The report also shows the counselor has been shown to use excessive behavior with students in past reports. They are on administrative leave while an internal investigation is ongoing.

Police are also investigating the case.

There have been no charges filed, and the name of the counselor and the school have not been released.
