FBI Seeks Help Tracking Down a Serial Bank Robber

The FBI is asking for the public’s help tracking down a bank robber who has robbed three banks and attempted to rob two others in the span of two weeks. In addition, he is suspected of robbing six other banks in the past six years.

FBI Agents say a man fitting the same description attempted to rob the Wachovia Bank at 8800 J.M. Keynes Boulevard in Charlotte on April 18th. Several hours later, he robbed the Coastal Federal Credit Union at 970 Branchview Drive in Concord. On April 20th, he tried to rob the BB&T at 830 Groves Street in Lowell, NC. A few hours later, a man fitting the same description robbed the BB&T at 5145 Poplar Tent Road in Concord, NC. On April 30, agents say same man robbed the BB&T at 1782 Highway 160 in Fort Mill, SC.

The same man fits descriptions in 6 other bank robberies in the past three years in the Charlotte and Gastonia areas: Clearview Federal Credit Union, 2830 Boyer Street, 07/07/2005; RBC Centura Bank, 14925 John J. Delaney Drive, 08/09/2005; RBC Centura Bank, 230 E. W.T. Harris Blvd., 10/19/2005; Wachovia Bank, 1527 W. Morehead St., 12/30/2005; First Citizens Bank, 7837 Pineville Mathews Road, 06/05/2006; RBC Centura Bank, 1000 East Blvd., 11/01/2006

Bank Robbed on Providence Road

Shortly after 3:00 pm, a lone black male suspect entered the Bank of America branch located at 7911 Providence Rd. The suspect approached the teller, told her he had a gun and demanded money. The teller complied and gave the suspect money from her cash drawer.

The suspect fled the bank on foot headed east. The suspect was described as follows: B/M, medium-brown skin tone, late 20's - early 3'0s, 5'8 - 5'9, 180 - 200lbs. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black ball cap, navy blue sweatshirt, navy blue baggy pants and dark tennis shoes. Police have not released any photographs.

Woman Shot During Bank Robbery at the SECU

Shortly after 11:30 am, the State Employee's Credit Union (SECU) on Airport Center Pkwy, was robbed at gunpoint by a black male suspect. (Shown R)

During the robbery, the suspect shot a female bank employee. Police say she suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as having a dark complexion, skinny, about 6' tall and in his mid 20's.
Witnesses say a black man with dread locks was driving a blue Honda and both men took off in that car. Investigators recovered the Honda a short time later on Helena Street. The K-9 unit searched the area but were unable to capture the suspects.

Man Wanted for Several Bank Robberies

The FBI Safe Streets Task Force is asking for help in locating the man suspected of robbing two Credit Unions in Charlotte and a bank in Gastonia. In addition, he is wanted in two cities in Georgia.

Investigators believe the man in the surveillance photos from the Truliant Federal Credit Union on March 17th and the surveillance photos from the State Employees Credit Union on February 29th, is Marcus Antwain Chisholm. He also goes by the name Brice Williams.

Police Seeking Repeat Bank Robber

The same man who robbed a North Charlotte Wachovia Bank on Monday has struck again! Today, he robbed an American Community Bank, located on South Blvd. As you can see from the surveillance photos- he wore the same clothes as he did in the last robbery.

North Charlotte Wachovia Bank Robbed

At approximately 2:46 pm, a Wachovia Bank was robbed at 2610 W. Sugar Creek Road. A white male entered the bank and demanded money from the victim teller. The teller gave the suspect money and he escaped on foot. He was last seen behind the gas station located at 2600 W. Sugar Creek Road.

The suspect is described as a white male, age 40 to 46 years old, 6ft to 6ft 1in tall, 180 to 190 pounds with a thin build. He has short hair that is light brown or dark blond.
At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a light colored ball cap, long sleeve white or beige pullover shirt that has three buttons near the neckline and blue jean pants. He did not have any facial hair and was described as "scruffy," in appearance.

Bank of America on Prosperity Church Rd. Robbed

Yesterday afternoon, a man robbed the Bank of America branch, located at 3021 Prosperity Church Road.

Police say a lone black man entered the bank and threatened a teller with a gun. He left with an undisclosed amount of money. The teller describes the man as being about 5’2” to 5’3” with a medium build. He’s described as having a full beard. Witnesses say he may have been wearing a hat.

No one was hurt during the robbery. Investigators from CMPD and the FBI Charlotte Safe Streets Task Force responded to the robbery and are still investigating. Anyone with information regarding this case is requested to contact the FBI at (704) 377-9200.

At 4:44 pm, the RBC Centura Bank located at 230 E. WT Harris Blvd was robbed by a black male suspect. The robber indicated he had a gun and demanded money from the teller. The suspect then left the bank in an unknown direction.

The suspect was described as follows; B/M, dark complexion, 5'7-5'8, 140 lbs, beard and moustache, short hair and "dirty looking." He was last seen wearing a dark blue jacket with light colored sleeves, grey pants and white sneakers. The suspect was also wearing a dark colored baseball cap that was recovered just outside the bank.

Man Robs Bank of America on Monroe Road

A few minutes before 5:00 pm, a lone black male robbed the Bank of America branch, located at 9700 Monroe Road.
Police say the man entered the bank and approached one of the bank tellers. He grabbed an undisclosed amount of currency from the teller area and ran out of the bank.
The suspect was last observed running from the bank on Monroe Road in the direction of Sardis Road North. No weapon was observed or displayed during the robbery and there were no injuries.
The suspect is described as a black male with medium-brown skin tone, approximately 6'0" to 6'1" in height, thin build, 40's in age, with a beard and moustache. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a dark-colored Panthers cap, a dark-gray shirt, and a black jacket.

Police Looking for Repeat Bank Robber

Police are looking for a man they believe is responsible for robbing two different banks in Charlotte this week. On Tuesday, the man robbed the RBC Centura Bank on Colony Rd. Police say the same man robbed a First Charter Bank branch this afternoon.


At approximately 4:30 pm, a white male entered the First Charter Bank, located at 6342 Carmel Road. The suspect waved a black semi-automatic pistol at the two tellers and demanded cash. The tellers gave the suspect cash and he fled out the back door, running towards Pineville-Matthews Road.

The suspect is described as a white male, age 20-25, 5'11"- 6'1" with a thin build. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a white mask, gray hooded sweatshirt, baggy pants, black gloves and tan work boots. If you have any information, please contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.

RBC Centura on Colony Rd. Robbed

Shortly before 5:00 pm, a white male was seen pacing back and forth outside the RBC Centura Bank at 3920 Colony Rd. One of the drive-thru tellers spotted the man and left the window to warn other bank employees.

At that time, the man covered his face with a white bandana, entered the bank and pulled a small black semi-automatic handgun out of his sweatshirt pocket. The suspect pointed the gun at the victim tellers and demanded money. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of money and then left the bank. After the suspect left the bank, a dye pack exploded, possibly staining his clothing red.

The suspect was described as: white male, early-mid 20's, 6’2-6’3, 190 lbs with dark brown eyebrows. The robber was last seen wearing a light brown or orange sweatshirt with the hood up, a white bandana with black designs covering his face from the eyes down, baggy blue jeans and dirty white sneakers. The suspect was armed with a small black semi-automatic pistol.

State Employees Credit Union Robbed

Shortly before 3:00 pm, the State Employees Credit Union, located at 10820 S. Tryon Street was robbed by a black male suspect. Police say the suspect approached the teller, indicated he had a gun and demanded money. The teller reached into the cash drawer, retrieved cash and put it on the counter. The man took the cash from the counter and walked out of the credit union in an unknown direction.
The suspect is a black male with medium brown skin, approx. 25 yrs. old, 5'7"-5"-5'9" and weighs approx. 175-185 pounds. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a black ball cap that had "Sox" printed on the front, gray and black striped sweater and dark pants.

First Citizens Bank Robbed on Christmas Eve

Shortly after noon on Christmas Eve, the First Citizens Bank located at 4325 Randolph Rd., was robbed by a black male. Police say the suspect approached the teller, threatened the use of a gun and demanded money. The teller complied and gave the suspect money from her cash drawer. The suspect then left the bank through the front doors.

The suspect is described as a black male, 35-40 years old, 5'10-6'2, 160-200 lbs. He was described as having “bad skin,” either acne scarring or burn marks on the lower portion of his face below the eyes.

The suspect was last seen wearing black jeans and a black jacket with light colored areas on the left sleeve and lower back. He was wearing a black baseball cap with a light colored circular emblem on the front depicting the cartoon character "Stewie Griffin." The suspect may have fled the scene in a black or dark colored, older model vehicle, possibly a Mazda.

SunTrust Bank Robbed on South Kings Drive

The FBI Charlotte Safe Streets Task Force is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the individual who robbed the SunTrust Bank located at 101 South Kings Drive.

On Thursday, December 13, 2007, at approximately 12:25 pm, a lone male entered the bank, approached a bank teller, and demanded money from the teller.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect exited the bank. At this time, it is not known if the suspect fled the area on foot or in a vehicle. Although no weapon was observed or displayed during the robbery, the bank robber threatened use of a gun. There were no injuries as a result of the robbery.

The suspect was described as a black male with facial hair, approximately 5’9”-5'10" in height, medium build, and approximately 30's in age. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a dark baseball cap with an emblem on the front of the cap, a white dress shirt and dark-colored tie with horizontal stripes, dark slacks, and tennis shoes.

The Scottish Bank on Morrison Blvd. Robbed

The FBI Charlotte Safe Streets Task force is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the individual who robbed The Scottish Bank located at 6525 Morrison Boulevard.

On Tuesday morning, a lone male entered the bank and presented one of the bank tellers with a demand note. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect exited the bank and fled the area. It is not known at this time if the suspect fled the area on foot or in a motor vehicle. No weapon was observed or displayed during the robbery, and there were no injuries as a result of the robbery.

The suspect was described as a white male, approx. 5'6"-5'7", 160 pounds and 50's in age. The suspect also had a large, reddish mark on the right side of his neck. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a light-colored baseball cap, sunglasses, and a dark-colored, long-sleeved pullover shirt. Bank of America on Prosperity Church Rd. Robbed


A Bank of America branch located at 3021 Prosperity Church Road was robbed shortly before noon today. A lone black male (shown in photos above) entered the bank and presented a bank teller with a note indicating he was armed, however, no weapon was observed or displayed during the bank robbery.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect exited the bank and fled the area in a 90's model 4-door Honda Accord- gold in color. There were no injuries as a result of the robbery.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male with a round face, approx. 5’5”-5'7" in height, stocky build, weighing approx. 170-180 pounds. He appeared to be late 20's in age. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a black toboggan and a black leather jacket.

Sun Trust Bank Robber Captured in Texas

Federal Authorities have arrested 39-year old Richard Lawrence Randall, who is believed to be the man responsible for robbing a Charlotte SunTrust Bank on October 10th.

Randall was arrested in a motel room in Odessa, TX after he had robbed another bank in Texas. Randall did not surrender to authorities quietly and was arrested after a long standoff with police. He is currently in the custody of U.S. Marshall Officers and will be extradited to North Carolina to face bank robbery charges.

Clearview Federal Credit Union on Boyer St. Robbed

At approximately 11:20 this morning, the Clearview Federal Credit Union located at 2830 Boyer Street was robbed by a lone male. The FBI said the suspect entered the bank and presented one of the bank tellers with a demand note. The note indicated the suspect was armed, however, no weapon was observed or displayed during the robbery.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect exited the bank and entered the front passenger seat of the getaway vehicle, which was in the parking lot of the bank. The getaway vehicle was a large black SUV that had a distinctive white strip along the side of the vehicle. Since the suspect entered the passenger side of the vehicle, it is inferred that there was at last one other individual in the vehicle. There were no injuries as a result of the robbery.

The suspect was described as a black male, approx. 5’6”-5'7,” heavy build and 20's in age. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a black baseball cap, a white long-sleeved shirt, blue-jean pants, and light-brown or tan Timberline boots. Bank of America Robbed in South Charlotte

A Bank of America branch located at 11020 Golf Links Drive was robbed this afternoon around 2:00 pm.

The FBI said a black male armed with a revolver entered the bank, approached one of the bank tellers and demanded money from the teller at gunpoint.

After the man obtained an undisclosed amount of money, he fled the bank on foot. Police believe the suspect had a getaway vehicle parked nearby.
