KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 62-year-old woman.
Just before 10 Tuesday morning, deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Evandale Road to investigate a suspicious death. Within minutes of their arrival on the scene, officials determined Shirley Goodnight Pierce was deceased.
Investigators began processing evidence and interviewing neighbors, friends and family of the victim.
Investigators have not confirmed that Pierce’s death was a homicide. Right now they’re only calling this a suspicious death investigation.
