Shooting at Charlotte Nightclub Leaves Two Injured

label shootingTwo people in the nightclub of the NC Music Factory were shot and sustained non-life threatening injuries Saturday, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

CMPD responded to a service call about assault with a deadly weapon at the Label nightclub about 7 p.m. to find a woman with a gunshot wound, according to spokesman Rob Tufano.

Tufano said the woman was taken for treatment at Carolinas Medical Center, and a second person was sent to the same place for a gunshot wound soon after.

According to preliminary information, Tufano said the people were hit after someone shot inside the club several times.

A “Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Weekend Takeover” party was being hosted at the club, located at 900 NC Music Factory Blvd. Rappers such as Young Jeezy, Young Dolph, T.I., and Yo Gotti were advertised to show at the event. It is unknown if the celebrities were there during the shooting.

People posted pictures on Instagram of everyone inside rushing to leave the building, including climbing over railings and ducking down.

Management at Label said in a statement a little before 10 p.m. that the club is cooperating with CMPD.

No one has been arrested in the case. About 15 police stood outside after the incident to interview people and look for evidence.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call and speak with a detective at 704-432-8477 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
