A large bronze sculpture statue was stolen from a south Charlotte’s center earlier this week. The statue is part of a flower garden that sits in front of the Easter Seals UCP Children’s Center located on Marsh Road. It was purchased for $50,000 and donated to the school by Irwin Belk in 2002.
This evening the statue is back at the school but police are still looking for the thief that stole it. A woman in west Charlotte found it in her yard. Police think the thief had special tools to remove the sculpture from its base.
