Suspect Sought in Multiple Armed Robberies

AR-160828660Police said they are seeking a man who robbed several convenient stores in Cramerton, Gastonia, Blacksburg, and Kings Mountain.

Two or more of the incidents occurred on Wednesday, but the others happened a month ago, according to police.

One of the robberies happened this week at the Kwik Stop on West Garrison Boulevard. Another happened July 22 at the Kangaroo Express on North Chester Street. A clerk there, Verdina Scott, and her 12-year-old daughter had been in the store when the robbery happened. Neither was injured.

No one has yet been charged in the robberies, but investigators are looking at surveillance footage to obtain pictures of the suspect. The suspect is described as a black man around 6-feet-4-inches and 6-feet-6-inches tall wearing a white shirt and orange and blue hat during the Cramerton and Gastonia robberies. He was also reportedly carrying a small firearm.
