Suspects Hold Family at Gunpoint In Charlotte Home, 1 Captured

tape gunA man has been arrested and police are searching for two others who held a family at gunpoint after breaking into their apartment in southeast Charlotte.

There had been a four-year-old girl inside the apartment when the incident occurred.

Gabriyel Abdullah had been arrested within hours of the crime. According to officers, Abdullah and two others had forced themselves into the townhome of a couple located on Beacon Hill Lane, just off Providence Road, on Saturday right before 10 p.m.

The couple and their daughter were held at gunpoint by the men for almost 30 minutes as they took a wallet, phones, and two video game systems from the home, investigators said.

Police arrived quickly and chased the suspects as they were running from the home. Officers captured Abdullah nearby in some woods.

Officers are continuing to actively search for the other two men.

Abdullah will face multiple charges that include robbery with a dangerous weapon.
