Teen Attacked Student At Local School

A fifteen year old North Meck student is being charged with attempted murder after he attacked another student on school campus. The student is being charged with attempted first degree murder after the attack that happened on Tuesday.

According to police, the fifteen year old boy lured a fourteen year old female student into the woods behind the school, saying he wanted to show her something. Once back there, he knocked the victim to the ground, got on top of her, and began strangling her while wearing gloves.

The victim struggled with the suspect and pleaded for him to stop. He then, according to police, punched her twice in the head and face and strangled her again to the point of unconsciousness. The victim told police that when she regained consciousness, she played dead in an attempt to save her life.

Police have not determined a motive, but the victim has known the suspect for quite some time and told police the suspect asked her out on a date earlier this month.

The victim was treated for her injuries at Presbyterian Hospital. The suspect has been arrested and charged with attempted murder. He is being held at the Juvenile Detention Facility. CMS says the in addition to criminal charges, the student will also be disciplined according to the CMS Code of Conduct.
