Traffic Stop Ends With Shots Being Fired

Mount Holly police pulled over Jmar Davis, 27, around 11:30 pm Tuesday after he was clocked going 80 mph in a 35 mph zone near South Main Street. Davis got into an altercation with police and told them he had a gun. The two officers ended up firing shots at Davis, hitting him multiple times.

Few details have been released and the State Bureau of Investigation is looking into the case, as well as the Mount Holly Police Department. The two officers have been placed on paid administrative leave, which is standard procedure.

The suspect, Davis, was taken to Gaston Memorial Hospital where he is in serious but stable condition. The two police officers were not injured.
