Two Arrested in Apartment Complex Shootings

unnamed-3Police arrested two men following shots fired outside an apartment complex in Rock Hill this weekend.

Zaikeim Jones, 25, has been charged with unlawful carry of a pistol.

David Kinder was the driver of the car both he and Jones were riding in. Kinder is charged with driving without a license, Rock Hill Police said.

Officers on foot patrol in the 700 block of Riverview Road heard around six to eight gunshots coming from the area near Patriot Parkway. At the same time, multiple calls were received about shots fired from the Mallard Point Apartments.

Two cars found in the parking lot were damaged by the shots.

Police followed a Dodge Stratus that saw speeding away and initiated a traffic stop.

After stopping the vehicle, officers found an empty magazine and many .380 pistol rounds in the car floor. They also found a .38 special revolver beneath the front passenger seat.

After tracing the route, police also found a .380 semi-automatic handgun close to O’Reilly Auto Parts, according to the report.

Jones and Kinder were taken to the Rock Hill jail.
