Two Girls Charged With Cab Driver’s Death

Two teens girls charged with the murder of a taxi cab driver entered pleas and received sentencing on Wednesday in the Catawba County court. Emily Kathryn Starnes, 17, of Hickory, and Consandra Nicole Tyree, 17, of Newton, pled guilty to four felony charges each of accessory after the fact of murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, and obstruction of justice.

The girls will serve at least 58 months but not more than 79 months in jail at the North Carolina Division of Adult Corrections. The charges are related to an August 2011 homicide of a Hickory cab driver by the name of Adam Williams. Matthew Hopkins, Camryn Johnson, and Robert McElwee are all under indictment on charges related to the homicide.
