An incident that occurred in Cherryville right after midnight Friday has left two men dead.
Andy Heath Hartman, 40, was shot and killed at 112 Bates Ave where he lives, police said.
Police received a 911 call at 12:34 a.m. from a woman who was hysterical, gasping and vomiting, and pleading for help saying her friend had been shot.
The woman had trouble giving an address but gave the dispatcher a car description and name.
The body of Yates Franklin Mauney III, 40, was found dead by detectives less than two hours later.
The body was on property owned by his deceased parents near Kenwood Road in Gaston County, Captain Cam Jenks from the Cherryville Police Department said.
Andy and Mauney knew one another, Jenks said.
The cause of the incident that led to the deaths was has not been released by police.
