Unatteded Bag Causes Brief Evacuation

Monday morning an Amtrak station was evacuated after a passenger reported an unattended package.

The station on North Tryon Street is back up and running this afternoon, but around 10am this morning trains were stopped, the station was evacuated, and things were a little backed up for a brief amount a time.

A passenger had reported seeing an unattended briefcase on a train. The inbound train was stopped farther up the track and passengers were kept back by the entrance as police investigated. Once the investigation was done, business was allowed to carry on as usual.

The delay lasted about 30 minutes.
