Warrant Issued For BBB 4-Time Bad List Repeat Offender

bbbSTATESVILLE, N.C.  – Gastonia-based company “Home Appliance Repair” is on the Better Business Bureau’s “Dirty Half Dozen” bad list for the fourth time with four  unanswered complaints in 2013 and 30 unanswered complaints in the previous 36 months.

Complainants from eight counties in North Carolina and South Carolina include Mecklenburg, Gaston, Lincoln, Iredell, Catawba, Cabarrus, Union, and York, paid $150 to $927 to Michael David Henderson for appliance repairs that they allege were not done properly, if at all.

As a four time repeat offender, Mr. Henderson and Home Appliance Repair was #1 on the BBB’s 2011 and 2012 Dirty Dozen Lists and #2 on the BBB’s 2012 Midyear Dirty Half Dozen List.

“According to complainants, Henderson determines that the broken appliance needs a part, collects the money for the part, and then doesn’t return to install the part,” BBB President Tom Bartholomy said.

“By using aliases and changing his business name, he makes it difficult for consumers to track him down to obtain a refund.”

Last week, the Statesville Police Department issued warrants for Henderson’s arrest for obtaining property by false pretenses.  Two Statesville residents filed charges against Henderson for taking their money, but failing to return with the parts to fix their appliances.
