Woman Accused of Murder-for-hire May Have Attempted to Kill Before

MURDER_FOR_HIRE_A school nurse supervisor in Mecklenburg County who has been accused of attempting to hire someone to murder her ex-husband apparently tried to kill the man before, court documents the prosecution filed show.

Fathia-Anna Davis had been indicted by a grand jury in March on solicitation to commit a crime of violence and racketeering murder charges.

Prosecutors filed a motion Friday claiming that Davis had tried to have her then-husband killed by a hit man two years ago but the deal was broken off because the hit man had wanted to have sex with Davis.

In addition, the motion says in October 2009 Davis attempted to poison her husband. Police came to the door of her home after a neighbor saw the dogs of the family running loose and called 911.

Davis’s husband answered the door but was stumbling and had slurred speech. The husband was taken to the hospital where he tested positive for tranquilizers, according to prosecutors.

The family’s former babysitter also said that Davis had expected the husband to be dead when she returned home because she had drugged his food.

John Snyder, Davis’s attorney, says the claims of past attempts hold no merit and police would have had something done about them at the time if they were true.

Snyder also said the babysitter had been fired by Davis for not handling her daughter’s care well.

Davis’s first arrest happened in February after a criminal complaint was filed saying she asked an unidentified man to get someone to kill her ex-husband. The man notified police and an undercover operation began.

When speaking with the undercover detectives, Davis said she would pay $4,000 to kill her ex-husband by shooting him in the head, the affidavit shows.
